Label Points Already on Graph - How it Works - Video

Example A

Example A:

Here we are labeling the points that are already on the graph. After we find point A on the graph, we should draw a line to the x-axis and y-axis. Since point A is already on the x-axis, we look at the number right there and that is -5. Now we can draw a line to the left to the y-axis, and that leads us the number, 0. So our point is (-5, 0).

Example B

Example B:

Here we are labeling the points that are already on the graph. After we find point B on the graph, we should draw a line to the x-axis and y-axis. Drawing a line straight down to the x-axis leads to the number, -1. Now we can draw a line to the right to the y-axis, and that leads us the number, 3. So our point is (-1, 3).

Example C

Example C:

Here we are labeling the points that are already on the graph. After we find point C on the graph, we should draw a line to the x-axis and y-axis. Drawing a line straight down to the x-axis leads to the number, 4. Now we can draw a line to the left to the y-axis, and that leads us the number, 5. So our point is (4, 5).

Example D

Example D:

Here we are labeling the points that are already on the graph. After we find point E on the graph, we should draw a line to the x-axis and y-axis. Drawing a line straight up to the x-axis leads to the number, -2. Now we can draw a line to the right to the y-axis, and that leads us the number, -3. So our point is (-2, -3).

Example E

Example E:

Here we are labeling the points that are already on the graph. After we find point E on the graph, we should draw a line to the x-axis and y-axis. Drawing a line straight up to the x-axis leads to the number, 0. Now since we are already on the y-axis, we just look at the number, -2, that is there. So our point is (0, -2).

Example F

Example F:

Here we are labeling the points that are already on the graph. After we find point E on the graph, we should draw a line to the x-axis and y-axis. Drawing a line straight up to the x-axis leads to the number, 4. Now we can draw a line to the left to the y-axis, and that leads us the number, -4. So our point is (4, -4).
